The Vertues of Salad is a handsome, limited edition based on Parkinson's Theatricum Botanicum, a British herbal of the l7th century. The Bisquit City Press has taken the woodcuts of those plants commonly used in salads and made new cuts for their etchings. Each etching faces a page of text which has been taken from the original herbal. A very handsome book bound in full bottle green morocco with marbled endleaves. The rich gold tooling carries a plant motif, and the central lozenge is brightened by a light red onlay of morocco.
