Madison Tryptich
An elegant preservation solution

Harcourt Bindery makes protective clamshell cases for books and manuscripts in cloth, leather, or a variety of materials.  It is rare that we make full leather "tryptich" folders.  Recently we completed such a folder in full blue morocco, richly tooled in gold leaf by hand.  The folder holds a rare document by James Madison, as well as a portrait of him and a transcription and description of the document itself.  Each valuable item is presented in a non-acidic protective mat or sleeve.  The finished case also contained a platform so that the spine of the box would be wide enough to appear as a book when shelved.  This is a handsome solution to the challenge of multiple items housed with preservation in mind.

Wonderful Job

"Hi Sam -

Hope all is well.  Robert and your staff sure did a wonderful job.  I just love holding the book. ..Thanks again, Mike.

Mike is talking about the prototype book we produced for his company Houstory Publishing, which produces books to hold pictures and documents of house histories.
